When Swein Forkbeard died, his son Harald became King of Denmark and the other son  Canute (the Great) received the tribute in England.

When Canute get forced away from England and took shelter in Denmark, to get strengthen, he proposed they shared Denmark but Harald would not share with Canute. He wanted to help him to capture England.

They agreed to bring their mother home from Poland, where she had lived since her marriage from their father was broken up.

In 1016 Norway tore themselves away from Danish command.

When Harald died he was followed by Canute the Great.

Harald`s burial place is unknown.
